Teen author escapes Tourette's through books

Kathryn BurschTampa, Florida – Look around Asher Edelson’s bedroom, and the troll figurines and books on mythology hint at his passion.
So far the 13-year-old has written two self-published adventure books filled with strange creatures living in a different world.
But watching Edelson type, it’s clear he struggles. At times his head jerks and his fingers cramp. The 8th grader has Tourette’s syndrome, but he doesn’t let his physical tics keep him from writing.
And he wants to send an “anything is possible” to other kids with Tourette’s.
